College Football Playoff Extra Yard for Teachers Summit 2015

At its core, the Summit invites all of us to connect with the remarkable possibility and passion of teaching.

On January 10, 2015, while North Texas was gearing up for the first-ever College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship Game, the CFP Foundation took a time out to focus on the people who helped all the student-athletes out there reach their dreams of attending college: the teachers. Imagine a fast-paced, half-day gathering of 600 teachers from across North Texas coming together to hear inspiring speakers and incredible performances who are all there for one reason: to recognize the hard work of those on the front lines of educating our kids. Think of this as the half-time celebration for teachers coming back from winter break into the second half of their year; the day will be engaging and energetic, and all about putting teachers center stage.

Speakers at the Summit included former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, DonorsChoose.org founder Charles Best, school founder Chris Lehmann, education evangelist Jaime Casap, and local teacher/poet Thom Browne.
